FULL EXPOSURE

Full exposure is where the top of the concrete is cut back to reveal the aggregate inside. This finish suits for when you are after a floor that is more uniform. As we take out the trowel marks and finishes on the top, there may still be some slight irregularity in the finish as we have no control in the placement, but this is what makes polished concrete exclusive.

PARTIAL EXPOSURE (HIT & MISS)

To achieve this finish we do not cut the floor back as aggressively as the full exposure so we can achieve the desired result. There is no real uniformity to this finish and the aggregate exposure can be quite heavy in one area and minimal to almost nil in another. This makes the floor look as though is has been down for quite some time and weathered with age but still has a beautiful smooth finish.

PARTIAL EXPOSURE (SALT & PEPPER)

The S&P finish removes the power trowel marks and many other effects in the concrete that may have occurred during the placement. Definitely a minimal softer look for the floor as there is a no real aggregate exposure and not as much movement and variations.

BURNISHED FINISH

A burnished finish is the most characteristic of all polished concrete floors. We would definitely would not recommend this finish to somebody who likes uniformity. Truly exclusive finish and without peer, the burnish can never be replicated with a lot of movement and an almost marbled look.

POLISHED BOND

Warmer and quieter under foot than tiles and concrete, polished bond has a latex polymer overlay with a smooth finish. Ideal for use in any high traffic area like grand hallway entrance ways, corporate reception areas and institutions like hospitals and education facilities.

VENETIAN PLASTER

Contemporary marble-like finish with lime, a pre-loved material used since the beginning of the century in construction. Romans used Venetian plaster in building such as the Pantheon, Pisa Tower and the Gothic Cathedra, all of which are still standing. It can be used as a wall or flooring finish for an effect reminiscent of ancient times.
